Intensive Care Transport Course – Pediatric Focus
-
Background
Experienced trainers have been running our trusted courses in critical care transport based on the curriculum of the Deutsche Interdisziplinäre Vereinigung für Intensiv und Notfallmedizin e.V. (German Interdisciplinary Association for Critical Care and Emergency Medicine) since 2000.
In recent years, this course has grown more and more important for paramedics and emergency doctors. The changing hospital landscape has resulted in an increasing number of inter-hospital transfers of seriously sick patients. Among these, the transport of pediatric patients presents a particular challenge.
Knowledge of highly complex treatments
To prepare you for the transport of children, we offer an additional module tailored to these specific needs. This course provides participants with essential knowledge and clinical scenarios relevant to pediatric secondary transport, including key principles and common conditions.
-
Structure and content
We begin by teaching the core theoretical principles of pediatric intensive care transport, including the most common clinical conditions encountered in this context.
Following this, participants deepen their expertise in ventilation, circulatory therapy, and other organ support techniques through hands-on workshops at practical stations.A key focus is on interactive scenario-based training, where participants practice essential procedures and workflows to ensure every move is second nature in real emergencies.
Workshops and scenario training sessions provide the opportunity to apply and reinforce the knowledge gained in a realistic, team-based setting.
This module can be combined with our Intensive Care Transport Course based on the DIVI curriculum.
