pPOCUS – Ultrasound for Allied Health Professionals
-
Course Format
Ultrasound is a fast and cost-effective method for identifying serious illnesses or injuries. It is increasingly being adopted in emergency nursing, by physician assistants in emergency departments, and by paramedics in prehospital care.
This one-day course, which is preceded by an eLearning module, is led by experienced instructors and covers key applications such as thoracic and abdominal ultrasound and ultrasound-guided venipuncture.
The course format is based on the emergency ultrasound courses by DEGUM, but also includes content on anatomy and basic ultrasound principles. Training is conducted using state-of-the-art ultrasound devices: the current system is highly compact and features two different probes. Thanks to the differently shaped transducers, both superficial and deeper anatomical structures can be examined effectively.
