    Training content

    The training consists of a theoretical and a practical part.

    The theoretical training comprises at least 56 hours, depending on previous knowledge, and takes place in Rheinmünster. The theoretical training is completed with a multiple choice test.

    The practical training comprises at least 8 hours and is carried out both in real life and in the simulator. All procedures that enable you to operate the helicopter safely are trained. The course concludes with an examination flight of at least one hour with an experienced examiner.

     

    Instructors

    The theoretical training is provided by experienced type rating instructors (TRI) or appropriately qualified theory instructors (GI). Instructors for type ratings (TRI) also carry out the flight training.

     

    General requirements

    All applicants must hold

    • a valid helicopter pilot license (PPL(H), CPL(H) or ATPL(H)) and
    • a valid airworthiness certificate.

    If the type rating is also to cover flights under instrument flight rules, the applicant must hold a valid IR(H) instrument rating for helicopters.

    The practical training comprises at least 8 hours and is carried out both in real life and in a simulator. All procedures that enable you to operate the helicopter safely are trained. The course concludes with a test flight lasting at least one hour with an experienced examiner.

You will be trained in all procedures that enable you to operate the helicopter safely.
