Broad spectrum for air rescue missions
With a fleet of over 50 helicopters and more than 45 years’ aviation experience, DRF Luftrettung has broad expertise in flying. Safety and modern technology are our top priorities. Not only are we the world’s biggest operator of the H145 in civil aviation, but we were also the first in Germany to put the five-bladed H145 into service in March 2021. Crews are on standby around the clock at 14 of our 37 bases in Germany, Austria and Liechtenstein, while 8 sites deploy helicopters with rescue hoists.
Night flights, hoist rescue, take-offs and landings in densely populated areas and missions on impassable Alpine terrain are all part of our diverse spectrum of missions. DRF Luftrettung has the most flight hours in darkness of all civil air rescue operators in Europe. It has put in many years of pioneering work in the use of night vision goggles in particular – across Germany and Europe. This concentration of expertise and extensive experience makes us an ideal training partner to have by your side!
Night flight and instrument rules: special requirements
Our approved training organisation offers training courses to obtain type ratings, flight instructor certification and instrument ratings for various types of helicopters. Training packages can be individually customised, whether for special approvals or training units in the ultra-modern LAT simulator in Frankfurt.
Our roughly 20 flight instructors possess decades of flying experience, especially in night flight and instrument rules. You too can benefit from DRF Luftrettung’s enormous expertise!
